LANIWAHINE (2026)Join Puʻuhonua Society for a morning of protocol, artist talks, and interactive workshops honoring the moʻolelo of Laniwahine— a shape-shifting water guardian, and her three servants who reside and sustain the sacred ʻUkoʻa and Loko Ea fishponds of Waialua.THURSDAY, SEPT. 3, 20269:00 AM - 12:00 PMHALEʻIWA BEACH PARKSet within the remains of a 1930s pavilion, this installation features 48 sculptural works by Wahi Pana artists Amber Khan @colour.amber and Jordan Souza @jordansouza808 . The sculptures visually integrate archival records from nūpepa (1870-1885), translated by Paige Okamura @dj_mermaid, with the living memory shared through moʻolelo with Waialua community members.This event is free + open to the public. Registration is requested by 9/2.
