ACU RARE Program

Your child has been invited to attend a 3-day immersive Exercise Science experience at Blacktown Exercise, Sports and Technology hub (BEST) from Wednesday 18th  – Friday 20th November 2026.All transport (Western Road Liners), accommodation (The Lodge), food and activities (BEST) will be provided free of charge on this fully funded experience provided by the Australian Catholic University (ACU).All activities will be provided by ACU staff and will include undertaking exercise and movement within exercise physiology and biomechanics laboratories, an environmental chamber, and an aquatics environment. All activities will be conducted and supervised by ACU Staff with your child’s teacher in attendance. Personal performance scores will be recorded by your child, via a booklet, and no data will be retained by the university.Other schools will be in attendance on this excursion (Cowra High School, Lithgow High School School, La Salle Academy (Lithgow), St Stanislaus’ College (Bathurst). Accommodation is to be provided at The Lodge, located inside Blacktown International Sports Park and participants will only be staying with students from their own school.Students are to meet in the Bus Bay at St Raphael’s Catholic School at 7:45am for an 8am departure on Wednesday 18th November and will return at approximately 3:15pm on Friday 20th November.Students are to bring a packed lunch on Day 1 & money to purchase lunch on Day 3. Students are to pack casual clothes, swimming costumes, beach towel, toiletries, slides / thongs for water activities.A full program of activities is to be provided when available.      Please inform Mr Phelan of any dietary requirements, and provide consent via Compass by Friday 6th November 2026.. If you have any questions, please contact Mr Andrew Phelan a.phelan@bth.catholic.edu.au
