We would love to see you next time. Mahalo nui for understanding.RSVP to info@kalauao.org or on IG @hoolahou.ia.kalauao by the Friday before the work day so we have an idea of how many to expect.Please bring/wear:Clothing that is able to get dirtyBoots or covered shoes recommended for those doing work outside of the loʻi. High zip up tabis, high socks, or barefoot + slippers for after for those going into the loʻiWater bottle, snacks (We’ll have a water cooler.)Hat, sunblock (but don’t put on your legs), change of clothes and towel if you want to change before leavingA dish or food item to share for lunch. (If can can, no can no worry).Mess kit (reusable plate/bowl/utensils for lunch)Directions:Park outside. Suggested parking near the old Sears Pearlridge Makai parking lot (the one with the food trucks) near Kamehameha Hwy. Don’t leave valuables in the car.Walk from the parking lot toward Kamehameha Hwy and enter the Sumida Farm/Aiea Boat Club driveway on Kamehameha Hwy. This is a very long, shared driveway. The cemented canal will be on your right as you walk in and Sumida Farm (watercress farm) will be on your left. Do not turn, but walk straight along the cemented canal all the way to the very end of the driveway where you see an old building and the monorail straight ahead (It’s a long driveway). We’ll be in the back lot under the big tarp.Important Notes: There is no potable, running water on site and no indoor plumbingMasks are welcomed but not required. Please be respectful of others’ choices to distance/mask as we all mālama (take care of) our ʻohanaIf you are feeling sick, we ask that you please rest at home. We would love to see you next time.For those going into the loʻi, we recommend not shaving at least couple of days before your visit.All minors must be accompanied by a makua (adult).
