Autumn’s Eve (Lamas - Lughnasadh/First Fruits) 15° Leo The waning of the light. The Goddess and her Consort are alienated from each other, due to the Consort's neglect of his oath. The Goddess assumes her wrathful aspect. The Oak King is sacrificed by his dark twin, the Holly King, at the instigation of the Goddess. The Oak King willingly submits to his fate. Like the reaped wheat, his body is broken and eaten sacramentally by the Goddess. Light: Waning Light God and Goddess: The aging King begins to decline. Gods of Light and Darkness: The Dark Child grows stronger as the God of Light begins to age and decline. The Wild Hunt and the Tree Kings: The God is symbolically eaten as the bread made possible by his earlier sacrifice.
