A NewSpace India Limited (NSIL) LVM3 rocket (formerly GSLV Mk.III), flying on the LVM3-M6 mission, will launch the first BlueBird Block 2 satellite for AST SpaceMobile. The satellite is designated as FM1 and has a launch mass of 5850kg. The satellites use AST & Science's patented technologies for connecting to cellphones in a space environment for their SpaceMobile constellation. - The BlueBird Block 2 satellites are twice as large and have 10 times the capacity of the Block 1 sats and the BlueWalker 3 prototype. The company needs between 45 and 60 BlueBirds for continuous coverage in the United States, supporting text, voice and data services. - Delayed from May, July, Dec. 15, 20 and 21.
