The free, family-friendly event will feature live entertainment, cultural demonstrations, local vendors, food, keiki activities, and opportunities to learn more about Papahana Kuaola’s work and how to get involved.Check out their instagram @papahanakuaola for more information!!Does only count for hours helped out at the MINA booth and elsewhere as needed.___________________________________________________________________________For 20 years, Papahana Kuaola has brought people together through hands-on stewardship, environmental education, and Native Hawaiian knowledge.Located in Heʻeia, the nonprofit works alongside schools, families, volunteers, and community partners to restore Hawaiʻi’s natural resources while creating meaningful opportunities for people to build a lasting relationship with the ʻāina.Whether restoring streams, propagating native plants, caring for wetlands, or leading place-based educational programs, Papahana Kuaola believes that the best way to learn is by getting your hands in the work.This year marks a milestone as Papahana Kuaola celebrates its 20th anniversary with a community Hoʻolauleʻa on Sunday, August 30, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.“This celebration is really about our community,” said Executive Director Tésia Roberts. “For 20 years, people have come together here to learn, volunteer, restore, and grow.  The Hoʻolauleʻa is our way of celebrating those relationships and inviting everyone to experience Papahana Kuaola.”
