Long March CZ-3B/E • Tianlian 2-06

A China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation (CASC) Long March (Chang Zheng) CZ-3B/E rocket will probably launch the sixth 2nd generation Tianlian satellite, Tianlian 2-06 into geosynchronous orbit. The 2nd gen satellites feature several technical upgrades, including transmission capacity and response speed. The launcher will fly as CZ-3B/G3 variant with a 4.2m diameter fairing. - The Tianlian 2 (Sky Link 2) satellites are geostationary relay satellites based on the DFH-4 bus (three-axis-stabilized telecommunications satellite platform) with a launch mass of ~5 tonnes. Tianlian 2-06 (aka Tianlian 2F or TL-2F) will be used to support real-time communications between orbiting satellites and ground control stations. This system will replace the current network of ground-based space tracking and telemetry stations and space tracking ships.
