The Tuesday of the Fast of Nineveh (Tlotho-bshabo d'sawmo d-ninwoyé) according to the liturgical calendar of the Syriac Orthodox Church in Malankara. The reading from Jonah recounts him sitting in the shade of the gourd plant, only for it to be destroyed. Jonah wails in agony as he suffers from the elements, lamenting the loss of the gourd. God then asks Jonah, if he took so much concern with a gourd that withered away as quickly as it had arrived, shouldn't the almighty one take pity on His great city of Nineveh & save the inhabitants whom are His creation? The Lord is merciful even in His anger. In the Gospel of St. Mathew, our Lord warns us that only the Father in heaven knows of the second coming of Christ. Let us remain a faithful servant to God, ever watchful for the hour of judgement is at hand. Eniyono hymn from Tuesday morning prayer: "The kind of repentance of the Ninevites had never been heard of before in the world. For all men & beasts kept an uncommon fast. When the Lord saw their perseverance He removed their punishment & had mercy upon them" The Holy Bible readings from the Church Lectionary are as follows:Evening:St. Luke 4:24-32Morning:Micah 1:1-16Jonah 4:5-11; Nahum 1:1-14 Isaiah 57: 13-19Acts 8: 9-25Romans 15:14-25St. Matthew 24:36-46Malankara World Special supplement with sermons/commentaries: https://goo.gl/aKqZXLDaily Malayalam prayers: https://tinyurl.com/2p99z37aDaily English prayers: https://tinyurl.com/23sbz8nnTuesday Syriac Prayers: https://tinyurl.com/mpav9zf6 An article by Dr. Babu Paul sir: https://goo.gl/uLVf5d
