Vulcan VC4S • USSF-87

A United Launch Alliance Vulcan rocket, designated ?, will launch the USSF-87 mission for the US Space Force. It will carry GSSAP 7 and 8 directly into a geosynchronous orbit. This identical pair of Geosynchronous Space Situational Awareness satellites will form part of the USSF’s Space Base Situational Awareness (SBSS) constellation, which tracks space traffic and debris in orbit. Secondary payload is an LDPE (Long Duration Propulsive ESPA) hosting multiple payloads launching into a direct inject GEO orbit. Vulcan will fly in the VC4S vehicle configuration with a double-engine Centaur upper stage, four solid rocket boosters and a standard fairing.
