Please contact csssl@hawaii.edu if you have questions about this.ACTIVITY DESCRIPTIONWith the kuleana to mālama a rich cultural and natural resource, Mālama Loko Ea Foundation (MLEF) works to revive Loko Ea to once again become an abundant and thriving loko iʻa–fishpond. Located on the North Shore of Oʻahu, Loko Ea sits in an estuarine environment where the ocean meets the Ukoʻa Stream. Come help us restore this 400+ year-old loko iʻa and learn about the place and importance. As we work together, we can maintain and restore historic and culturally significant resources on our island to ensure they exist for future generations.Itinerary:8:45am - sign in9:00 - welcome and introduction9:15 - mālama ʻāina projects11:45 - cleanup12:00pm - lunch providedThings providedLunch! - Please try to bring a mess kit or container/utensils to eat with and take home leftover food.
