The Tao of Lamantia: A Walker Talks Live Stream

Philip Lamantia, legendary San Francisco surrealist.  One of the original readers at the Six Gallery Reading in 1955, that launched the Beat Generation.  Andre Breton called him "a voice that rises once every hundred years."  Bob Dylan sang about him in Desolation Row.  (The line "a perfect image of a priest" is lifted from Kerouac's description of Lamantia in the book Desolation Angels.)  Lamantia himself said "There are many pathways to the garden."  Like the Tao, Lamantia's poetic gift is dark and hidden, yet luminously connected to the sources of heaven and earth.  We shall explore the ways that this is true.
