Dear colleagues,The Multi-Ethnic Network invites you to join us for our Black History Month Celebration on Wednesday 15 October, 12–2pm, on the first floor of the Civic Offices. We are delighted to welcome Joseph Jeffers, CEO (B.A., M.A.), as our guest speaker. Joseph brings extensive knowledge and experience in supporting individuals who face barriers to inclusion within the community. He will introduce the story of how the group was formulated, leading into “Echoes of Resistance” – a powerful collection of poems grounded in Black feminist thought. The poems demonstrate how writing can function as testimony, cultural memory, and resistance. Following this, colleagues will have the opportunity to watch a short film, which further explores the history, resilience, and contributions of the Windrush generation. And yes – there will be food! Join us to reflect, connect, and celebrate together in a welcoming, inclusive space.
