They invite people to limit the sensory input in the environment during this hour, including lighting and sound. They encourage people to wear hoodies, which many autistic people wear as a subtle way to block out overwhelming sensory input. Our students are encouraged to bring/wear a hoodie to school on this day with normal/p.e uniform and during block 4 we will be hosting our own 'quiet hour' with lights off and sound down. There is no cost or fundraising involved with this event.
