After Church Coffee and Conversation

All are welcome to a presentation and discussion in the undercroft during coffee after church on November 2.  The topic is “Stewardship as a Virtue.”  Rev. Kerbel believes that by applying the spiritual practice of stewardship almost exclusively to church fundraising we have lost sight of how stewardship applies to every area of our with-God life. Like other virtues, stewardship is a God given part of our human character that can be developed through habitual practice into a strength (virtue) that is at-the-ready when we need to act as stewards in the face of challenges.  Our session will include discussion of virtue ethics as a resource for discipleship as we consider stewardship of God’s creation, stewardship of the Body of Christ, stewardship of community, stewardship of relationships and anything entrusted to our effective sphere of influence.
