Duke of Ed Hike

Nangar National Park HikeSunday 18th & Monday 19th May 2025The Bronze Duke of Edinburgh Award practice hike will be an overnight hike in Nangar National Park on Sunday 18th & Monday 19th May 2025.Students are to meet in the church carpark at St Raphael's Catholic School at 9am on Sunday 18th May where they will be escorted to Terarra Creek Camping and Picnic Area in Nangar National Park by Mr Andrew Phelan and Mr Ben Thomson.On arrival the group will hike to Mt Murga along Mt Murga Walking Track (8km return) and return to Terarra Creek Camping and Picnic Area to set up camp for the night.On Monday morning the group will hike from Dripping Rock to Mt Nangar along Mt Nangar Walking Track (6km return).Mr Andrew Phelan and Mr Ben Thomson will return all students to the church carpark at St Raphael's Catholic School by approximately 4:00pm.The school is able to supply the students with hiking packs, tents, sleeping mat, head torches and camp stoves if required. Please note that no mobile phones are to be carried by students on this excursion.Both teachers will be carrying mobile phones.
