St. Jude the Apostle

May 10th is the commemoration of the dukhrono of St. Jude the Apostle according to the Liturgical Calendar of the Syriac Orthodox Church. St. Jude, also known as Labbaeus bears the surname Thaddeus, & was the son of James. (translated correctly in the Syriac Peshito of Luke 6:16 & Acts 1:13. It is incorrectly translated to brother of James in other versions) He preached in Samaria, Mesopotamia & Persia where he reunited with fellow Apostle St. Simon. He is the Patron of the Armenian Orthodox Church along with St. Bartholomew. He attained martyrdom along with St. Simon. Oh St. Jude, plead for us before God's throne of grace! Amen.
