Join herePresented by: Ajay Freeman, M.S.Description:This interactive workshop, based on a TEDx talk about moving from passive allyship to courageous active intervention, helps medical residents and attendings practice responding to harmful, biased, or exclusionary moments in clinical training environments. Residents will explore how silence compounds harm, why people freeze in the moment, and how courage can be strengthened through rehearsal. Using realistic clinical scenarios, participants will practice brief intervention phrases for responding to misgendering, ableist assumptions, stigmatizing language, biased patient care assumptions, access barriers, and discriminatory comments. The workshop emphasizes that allyship is not an identity or intention; it is a practice rooted in action.
