Be in for a weekend of MaGic roads, brilliant MG motoring & great company! As planned at present. We will monitor the fuel supply situation and advise any changes via event emails and the club website. Midwinter tour 2026 This year's event takes place over Matariki weekend, 10th-12th July. For those who haven't been before it is a great opportunity to enjoy the scenic touring roads of the lower half of the North Island. The format of the event is informal: decide your own route, team up with others going the same way and enjoy the drive, coffee stops and lunch with them along the way. And at the end of the day everyone gets together over a meal to yarn about the day's happenings. Whether it is Gentle Annie, Forgotten World highway (both now sealed), Tararua, or Whanganui-sh, once you get away from the main roads you are spoilt for choice, with an abundance of good traffic-free tarmac roads, or alternatively (if it is your thing) some of the remaining gravel roads. MG ZED 25 If you own a ZR, ZS or ZT, 2026 marks 25 years since the debut these well put-together MG saloons. A celebration of this is being held as part of the annual midwinter tour on 10th-12th July (see above). There is a good sized group of owners coming from Wellington, and already some from Auckland. To join in, all you need to do is register for the event as above under Midwinter Tour.Costs: Accommodation is around $60-$100 per person per night, depending onhow many people share a unit. Registration fee $20 per car.To book for the event, and to book your accommodation, please contact either Paul Walbran (paul@mgparts.co.nz) or Darryl Bretherton (captain@mgclub.org.nz) for a registration form.
