This is the Divine Liturgy for the Great Feast of the Exaltation of the Cross. This Feast celebrates not an event so much, as a reality: the precious and lifecreating Cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, the heart of our Christian Faith. Ancient Christian Rome took the emblem of the Cross as its chief symbol, and celebrated it on this day with splendid processions and services. Our celebration of the Cross continues in our post-Christian society, but in a new mode, celebrating Christian discipleship in the taking up of our Crosses and following Christ our Lord! Join us!
