LVM3 • GSAT 7R

ISRO’s LVM3 rocket (formerly GSLV Mk.III), flying on the LVM3-M5 mission, will launch the GSAT 7R (CMS-03) communications satellite for the Indian navy to geosynchronous transfer orbit GTO. It will replace the aging GSAT 7 (InSat 4F, Rukmini) satellite. Massing 4.4 tonnes, GSAT-7R features many upgraded payloads and capabilities, including more secure multi-band communications. The new satellite will improve and strengthen the Indian Navy’s warfare capabilities and operational reach across maritime domains. - Delayed from Oct. 16, 21, 24 and 31. Moved forward from Nov. 5.
