Title: Application of non-invertible selection rules to flavor physicsAbst:In this talk, I will discuss the application of non-invertible selection rules to flavor physics. We find novel texture structures in the Yukawa couplings of quarks and leptons that cannot be realized by conventional group-theoretic (invertible) symmetries. Furthermore, a particular Yukawa texture arising from these non-invertible selection rules addresses the strong CP problem within the Standard Model.Such non-invertible selection rules may naturally originate from string compactifications such as type IIB superstring theory on toroidal orbifolds as well as heterotic string theory on Abelian and non-Abelian orbifolds, where the selection rules for matter fields exhibit non-invertible features. In this talk, I will also introduce these top-down approaches and discuss their implications for flavor model building.10月31日
