A SpaceX Falcon 9 Block 5 rocket will launch the classified NROL-172 mission for the National Reconnaissance Office. It is for the first phase of NRO's imaging satellite constellation built by SpaceX and Northrop Grumman and is understood to be the thirteenth of multiple batches to launch. The NRO's Proliferated Architecture is a constellation of intelligence satellites, including imaging and relay satellites. The ? satellites on this launch are built upon SpaceX' Starshield bus, with Northrop Grumman providing sensors for some of them. The booster is designated B1103.2 for this mission.
