Oosha`né/Palm Sunday

The Hosanna Sunday (had'bshabo d'Oosha`né) according to the Liturgical Calendar of the Syriac Orthodox Church in Malankara. On the Sunday before Easter (had'bshabo d'Qymtho), the Church commemorates the triumphant entry of Christ into Jerusalem riding on a colt. The service commences with a procession in the church with the clergy, dressed in their vestments, carrying olive and palm branches, this is followed by the blessing of the palm leaves and finally blessing of the Holy Sanctuary.
