Eusebius, Bishop of Samosata +380

The martyr Eusebius, Bishop of Samosata, stood firmly for the Orthodox Confession of Faith proclaimed at the First Ecumenical Council at Nicea in the year 325. For this he underwent persecution by the Arians, being repeatedly deprived of his see and banished. In the Syriac version of Eusebius' Life , Eusebius had already become a Bishop of Samosata when he received a visit from Jacob of Nisibis, who allowed him to build a large church. He ordained priests and Bishops during the Arian controversy and was a good friend of the Cappadocians. He was killed by a blow to the head by an Arian woman. RSoH
