An Avio Vega C rocket, designated VV?, will launch the second batch of IRIDE Earth observation satellites for The Italian Space Agency ASI and ESA. The 11 satellites on this flight are designated IRIDE-HYP-PLATINO 1–2, IRIDE-MS1-EAGLET2 11, IRIDE-SAR-NIMBUS 1–6, IRIDE-SAR-NOX 1 and IRIDE-VHR-NIMBUS 1. IRIDE is a space-based observation program initiated under the framework of Italy's National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR). IRIDE will be unique in its incorporation of a wide range of sensing techniques and technologies, including microwave imaging with Synthetic Aperture Radars (SAR), optical imaging at high and medium resolutions, and coverage across panchromatic, multispectral, hyperspectral, and infrared bands. Once operational, IRIDE will be used to track the impacts of climate change and provide data to support startups and SMEs in creating commercial applications. Also aboard this launch are a number of Prométhée satellites for the Japetus constellation. This mission is the first flight of Vega under the new management of Avio. - Delayed from October 1 and Q4 2025.
