April 19th is the anniversary of the demise of Mar Thoma III +1688. Mar Thoma III was the third native-born Metropolitan of the Malankara Jacobite Syrian Church after the Koonan Kurishu Sathyam of 1653. He was from Pakalomattom family & was consecrated by Mor Ivanios Hidayathulla the delegate of the Holy Apostolic See of Antioch to Malankara. Mar Thoma III would govern the Malankara Church for only 2 years. At a young age he departed for the heavenly abode on April 19th 1688.
