Edwards Church will be hosting a concert of the 2026 Northampton Jazz Festival on Saturday, Sept. 26 in the sanctuary. The Johnny O’Neal Trio will perform at 2:30 and 4:00 PM (2 sets). Johnny O’Neal grew up playing and singing gospel music in his church in his hometown of Detroit and has gone on to have an illustrious career as a jazz singer and pianist. Considered a legend and master by the young jazz musicians he nurtures, he’ll feature Joey Ranieri on bass and Itay Marchi on drums. Don’t miss this concert!The 15th annual Northampton Jazz Festival is bringing 80 musicians to perform in 17 venues on Friday, Sept. 25 and Saturday, Sept. 26 across downtown Northampton. The festival is free and open to the public and concludes with a ticketed performance at the Academy of Music by headliner, six-time Grammy nominee, alto saxophonist Lakecia Benjamin with her quartet playing from her latest album, "We Dream."
