Skeff, MD, PhD, MACPAimee Espinosa, MD, FACP Michael Barnes, MD, FACP Francisco Davila, MD, MHPE, FACP Description:The Stanford Faculty Development program for medical educators has identified a core set of instructional skills for teaching effectiveness.  Incorporating this set of core instructional skills into your teaching repertoire will allow medical faculty, both experience and junior, to become more effective educators and prepare residents for life-long learning (an ACGME core competency).  The Stanford Faculty Development program priority skills of Creating a Positive Learning Climate, Communicating Goals, and Giving Feedback, are a practical and appropriate formal introduction to clinical instruction.  Objectives: At the conclusion of this activity, learners should be better able to:Identify actions for setting specific educational goals.Describe key components and behaviors for effectively setting and communicating educational goals.Identify assessment techniques to evaluate a learner's progress in achieving educational goals. Determine characteristics of effective feedback delivery.This activity is approved for 4.0* AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™
