A Mitsubishi Heavy Industries H3 rocket will launch the second HTV-X Transfer Vehicle to the International Space Station. The HTV-X serves as an unmanned cargo vehicle to deliver equipment and supplies to the ISS. This mission will fly the IDSS compliant JDS rendezvous and docking demonstrator (JAXA/Japan Docking System) as the sole primary external payload and one or more H-SSOD's (HTV-X Small Satellite Orbital Deployer). After completing its cargo delivery mission HTV-X2 will be unberthed for an automated docking demonstration. JAXA intends to use autonomous docking at the lunar Gateway as well as the International Space Station.The launcher will fly as 24W variant with two main engines, four solid strap-on boosters and a wide fairing. - Delayed from H2 2024 and H1.
