For students who also serve as caregivers, balancing these responsibilities simultaneously can be overwhelming. Unlike employees who often have access to workplace benefits and support systems, medical schools are lacking in resources and support for their students, leaving medical student caregivers feeling unseen and unsupported by their institutions.Objectives:At the conclusion of this activity, learners should be better able to:Identify challenges faced by medical students with caregiving responsibilities and the impact on their learner well-being and academic progression.Examine innovative institutional strategies, such as policy development, family-friendly spaces, and academic flexibility.Collaborate across departments to create best practices and design solutions for supporting medical student caregivers.Develop best practices, supports and resources to implement in their own departments at OUWB.
